Carry Less, Handle More: The Secret to Stress Resilience.

Hello Flourishing Friends,

Our experience of "stress" isn’t just about how much is on your plate—it’s about how much you think you can handle. Stress is actually a neutral term for any stimulus that asks us to adapt: think of a ball coming towards you. You can adapt by either ducking or catching it. What makes these stimuli feel "stressful" in the way our culture uses the term, is when the demand feels bigger than your ability to adapt- think 10 balls careening toward you, instead of just one.

According to our biology, adaptability means survival, so when we feel like we can't handle the load, overwhelm sets in.

But here’s the truth: not everything on your plate deserves to be there.

When we pause to clarify our values and priorities, we can make decisions that line up with what truly matters. That means less energy spent on things that don’t really matter to us, and less pressure to adapt to things that aren’t aligned with who we are or how we want to live.

The more aligned your daily choices are with your values, the fewer “extra” stressors (or balls) you need to adapt to. In other words—less adapting, less stress.

Here’s where chiropractic care comes in: Even when you’re living in alignment, life will always have demands. Chiropractic helps your nervous system work at its best—expanding your resilience and adaptability. When your body and brain can process and respond to stress efficiently, fewer things feel overwhelming.

Living in alignment helps less stress come your way.

Chiropractic care helps you manage it better.

Together, they create the space for resilience, calm, and ease in your life.

Reflection prompt for this month: What’s one responsibility you’ve been catching that doesn’t line up with your values? What would it feel like to move away from it—and to have the adaptability to handle the rest with more ease?

👉 If you’re ready to expand your adaptability and experience less stress in your daily life, this is the perfect time to schedule your next adjustment. Your nervous system will thank you.

As always, I hope this helped you.

Take care,

Dr. Evelyn
